In a remarkable display of determination, 94-year-old Pa Adedapo Idowu has registered for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), marking a significant step toward fulfilling his lifelong dream of obtaining a university degree. Pa Idowu, who aspires to study Political Science at the University of Ibadan, expressed his excitement about finally pursuing higher education after decades of postponement.
The nonagenarian completed his registration at the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Professional Test Center in Ibadan, Oyo State. Speaking with journalists, he described the registration process as seamless and commended the efficiency of the JAMB staff.
"I have always believed that education has no age limit," Pa Idowu stated. "This is a dream I have held close to my heart for many years, and I am grateful to be given this opportunity."
He also lauded the integration of the National Identity Number (NIN) into the registration process, emphasizing its role in simplifying the procedure and ensuring inclusivity for all candidates, irrespective of age or physical ability.
JAMB officials expressed admiration for Pa Idowu's commitment to education and highlighted his story as an inspiration to young Nigerians.
