Scottsdale, Arizona – A tragic accident at Scottsdale Airport on February 10, 2025, left one person dead and several others injured when a private jet collided with a parked aircraft on the runway.
According to authorities, the incident involved a Learjet 35A that had just arrived from Austin, Texas. The aircraft, owned by Mötley Crüe's lead singer, Vince Neil, veered off the runway upon landing and crashed into a stationary Gulfstream 200 business jet. The impact caused severe damage to both aircraft, leading to an immediate emergency response from airport personnel and local authorities.
One of the Learjet’s pilots was killed in the collision, while multiple passengers sustained injuries. Among those injured were Neil’s girlfriend, Rain Andreani, and her friend, both of whom were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Vince Neil was not on board at the time of the crash.
Initial investigations suggest that the Learjet’s left main landing gear may have failed, causing the plane to lose control upon touchdown. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched a formal investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident. Meanwhile, Scottsdale Airport has been temporarily closed as authorities continue their assessment.
This accident adds to a troubling string of recent aviation incidents in the United States. In late January, a mid-air collision between an American Airlines jet and an Army helicopter near Washington, D.C., resulted in 67 deaths. Just days later, a medical transport jet crashed in Philadelphia, killing all six people on board and one on the ground.
With aviation safety concerns rising, investigators are closely examining these recent crashes to identify potential risks and prevent further tragedies.
