New Jersey Police Officer Killed, Another Injured in Newark Shooting
Newark, NJ – March 7, 2025 – A tragic shooting in Newark, New Jersey, on Friday evening left one police officer dead and another critically injured. Authorities reported that the incident occurred around 6:37 p.m. near the intersection of Broadway and Carteret.
According to officials, the officers were responding to an ongoing investigation when they came under fire. Witnesses described hearing a barrage of gunshots before seeing law enforcement rushing to the scene. Both injured officers were transported to University Hospital, where one succumbed to his injuries, while the other remains in critical condition.
